What is the difference between a map sensor and mass air sensor flow to 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix?
My car will start, but usually be working but if you unplug the thing that I think is the air mass flow sensor that keep them going so that could be my problem. When I looked online map and sensor air mass flow sensor is like the same piece. I need to know where the mass flow of air is so you can determine if that is what unplugged
The sensor mass air flow is usually right on the airbox itself, with a connecting cable of 4-6 (where the air filter, and most managers general, is located in a corner of engine compartment), the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) indicates the actual pressure sensor / volume of air entering the engine, and is usually mounted on the firewall, or the rear of the engine, a 3-wire plug, and a single vacuum hose leading to it. Very few vehicles have both. If you are experiencing a no start, or start / stop condition, I suggest a MAF problem. The reasoning is simple .., is the work of MAF to measure how much air is entering the engine is the temperature (and therefore its density of oxygen), which allows the ECM to determine the amount of fuel required for the injection of an appropriate ratio A / F. If the MEC does not see the air entering the engine .. not allowing fuel to be injected and the engine will die in seconds start working
