Do you think cars piloted car would solve most of the world's problems?
To get rid of speed limits, accidents car, road rage, and the type of problems the world has the cars! Save gas
In reality, cars, computer controlled to help gas well. This would allow the cars to stay in optimum seek speeds to reduce waste. Also, help reduce road congestion because a computer controlled system would be able to avoid much of the backup and blocking roads in the network and therefore less gas wasted while you are sitting still. Another benefit would be to reduce gas residence time in lights. A computer system can better control traffic to optimize the route intersections so that there would be less time sitting at the lights. There are many problems it solved. You mentioned car accidents still happen but at a much lower rate. There is no perfect system of 100% worldwide. Think of other situations too. No more drunk drivers. No more carjacking (theft of a computer controlled car would be very stupid to do since the computer system is in control of the car. A person stealing the car will be possible to continue without any problem. There are more police chases. No more speeding. You would not be able to eliminate speed limits. The computer controlled cars would be the ultimate in speed limits. When Highway 55, said then the only acceptable rate would be 55. The only way for this to work with computers would be if it were a very controlled system. The system could only work if all cars are working together at speeds identical. One of the problems on the road today is people traveling at different speeds. It leads to conjestion on the roads. Cars travel too fast will meet with the car ahead of them going too slow and get a group of cars together. After a little more than cars going too fast, get caught in it and the whole thing bogs down. No, the only way to work is that all vehicles move at the same speed. This would mean speed limits. Also speed limits will help keep fuel consumption under control and help maintain the roads of damages being. Also, remember that no system is 100% perfect. At higher speeds, even with computer control, accidents happen at a faster pace with a higher mortality rate. Another area in which cars computer controlled could help is with people who have physical disabilities that prevent them from driving.
